The festival zone of the Quartier des Spectacles area of Ville-Marie. It is a large pedestrian zone during the summertime and whenever it holds the Festival Montréal en Lumière, home of the annual Nuit Blanche. It holds numerous festivals and events yearly, most notably the Francos de Montréal and the annual Jazz Fest. The zone encompasses or is close to the Place des Arts theatre, the Complexe Desjardins mall and office building, the Doubletree by Hilton hotel (formerly the Hyatt Regency), the Musée d'Art Contemporain, and the Université du Québec à Montréal's biological science pavilion. Recently, the National Film Board of Canada relocated their head offices to the Quartier des Spectacles, in the Place des Festivals.
