I, Victor Ruggi, am a graduate in Computer Science Technology at Dawson College in Montreal, Quebec. I finished in the honors list three times before graduating. Despite multiple setbacks and hurdles, I finally graduated in June of 2018.
I have previously developed an Android app that simulates bowling games for personal use. I have also made plenty of single-class Java applications that simulate games, game shows, and other real-world situations.
I have seen or stepped foot on nearly every Montreal Metro station in the network in my lifetime. It is my love of traveling around the city that inspired me to make this app. In this app, "hotspot" refers to any location that is either a tourist attraction, point of interest, or other notable building or location, like an office building or corporate headquarters. Each hotspot has a descriptor (for example, "Park" or "Mall"), a street address and a website where applicable, so if you are thinking of making a reservation for a hotel or a restaurant, for example, this site can help you to find one quickly.
The stations are grouped by Montreal borough when you click on the link for each metro line, but are shown in the order that they appear on the Montreal metro map. Stations that are not located on the Island of Montreal or Île Sainte-Hélène are listed as being in North Shore if they are located in Laval or South Shore if they are located in Longueuil.
A Google Maps satellite view map is included in the page of each metro station. Please note that the addresses of some parks may differ between what Google says and what the City of Montreal says. In this case, the address provided by the City of Montreal (courtesy of montreal.ca) is used.
At the bottom of each page, in the footer section, you can toggle between an English and French display, contact me via email, or see a list of my personal favorite hotspots near different metro stations.
