Built as the original home arena of the Montreal Canadiens and serving as such for several decades, the Forum closed in 1996 and then reopened as a massive entertainment complex, consisting of a Cineplex movie theatre (formerly owned by AMC), an arcade and game room, a bowling alley, a comedy club, a restaurant and sports bar. Remnants of the building's use as an arena can be found throughout the building, from old seats to pictures of important events that took place inside the sacred building.
The building also houses classrooms for Dawson College, located near the Forum, on the fourth floor. It was also briefly named the Pepsi Forum before reverting back to the original Montreal Forum name. The building was designated a Canadian National Historic Site in 1997.
